February 2024 “Month of the Life”

“I am learning every day to allow the space between where I am and where I want to be to inspire me and not terrify me.” ~Tracee Ellis Ross

Wow, I’m really behind posting.

Let’s just say that there was a lot going on this month:

Oban living the lap of luxury. I love it when his tongue sweeping his mouth is caught on film, I mean pixels.
Road trip fit. Did you know the first time I lived in Virginia was in the ’80s, which is the age of this vintage sweatshirt? The whole ambiance / circumstances of this photo was giving “Mulholland Drive” (2001), a movie by the late David Lynch that I still do not understand. But, then again, the last time I watched it was 2004ish when Gem Z were babies and toddlers and I was in my Roaring Twenties. I should rewatch this movie as a fortysomething, not a thirtysomething. Similarly, I went through a Twin Peaks phase in 2013, and I do think there are so many (missed) opportunities for animated gifs / memes that could grace the Internet. Speaking of the late David Lynch, apparently he ate the same lunch and dinner everyday as apart of his creative process so he could focus on work and not on routines that would take up his mental energy. Tomatoes, tunafish, feta cheese, and olive oil.

Sounds mediterranean diet to me.

Roadtrip soundtrack documented below.

February Nails, part 1.

So pretty. I still catch feelings for this nail set that I got from Dollar General or Walmart and I believe they are the KISS brand.

NOT PICTURED:

FEBRUARY 12, 2024, HEARD AT A SUPPORT GROUP:

“Pain just penetrates me.”
“Take action out of misery.”

February 17, Shaq’s Jersey Retirement:

They were handing out Shaq jerseys as a keepsake, and we picked one up for our guests.

Here’s what I journaled later that night:

”During Shaq’s jersey retirement at
a Magic game this past week,
I was that person who
(Briefly overall) centered
Michael Jordan
and the Bulls’
repeat 3-peat 💀🫣😬

Shaq’s birthday is coming up as well.

Also, Happy Birthday, Michael Jordan. [Today is his birthday.]”

LateR that same month [February 2024]:

We saw Jagged Little Pill in South Florida and it wasn’t what I was expecting. Jagged Little Pill is a 1995 album released by Alanis Morrissette. I was expecting nostalgia, but the story of the musical play was the opposite of dated and tackled the tough issues of the 2020s. But, wait, is nostalgia dated? Florida being Florida and all, there was a person who kept making disturbances that intruded on the audience’s viewing pleasure. A cast member had to get involved and shut him down with a satisfying retort. He was finally escorted out, and if I correctly recall, we all cheered.
